Work that outlived the project.

Modernizing a 20-year-old operations core — without stopping the business
The problem. A multi-location retail business ran purchasing, inventory, and fulfillment on a monolithic system written two decades earlier. Every change was risky, every integration brittle, and the engineers who understood it were retiring.
What we did. Rather than a big-bang rewrite — the graveyard of retail IT — we used a phased strangler approach: new services built alongside the monolith, traffic migrated function by function, with the legacy system retired only when its replacement had proven itself in production.
The outcome. The platform now ships changes weekly instead of quarterly, and the business never experienced an unplanned outage during the transition.
One version of the truth for a lending business
The problem. A lending institution's reporting lived in dozens of spreadsheets fed by hand. Month-end took two weeks, numbers disagreed between departments, and regulators were asking harder questions than the data could answer.
What we did. We built a governed data platform: automated pipelines from the core systems, a single warehouse model the whole business agreed on, dashboards for operations and risk, and lineage that could show a regulator exactly where any figure came from.
The outcome. Month-end reporting became a two-day process, and the analytics foundation later became the training ground for the client's first credit-risk models.
A patient portal that patients actually use
The problem. A healthcare provider network offered a patient portal that technically existed and practically didn't: single-digit adoption, phone lines still overloaded, staff re-keying information patients had already provided.
What we did. We rebuilt the experience around the three things patients actually come for — appointments, results, and payments — with a mobile-first design, integration into the provider's clinical systems, and privacy controls engineered in from the start.
The outcome. Adoption became the norm rather than the exception, and routine phone volume fell enough to redeploy front-desk staff to higher-value work.
Scaling a digital learning platform past its growth ceiling
The problem. A fast-growing training organization had outgrown its off-the-shelf learning platform: courses couldn't be customized, reporting was a black box, and every enrollment spike meant an outage.
What we did. A dedicated McRaaN team built a purpose-built learning platform — course authoring, assessments, certificates, and analytics — on cloud infrastructure that scales with enrollment instead of failing with it.
The outcome. The platform absorbed a 10× enrollment increase over two years, and completion analytics now drive course design instead of guesswork.
Turning machine telemetry into maintenance decisions
The problem. A manufacturer's equipment generated torrents of sensor data that went nowhere. Maintenance was calendar-based: too early for some machines, too late for the ones that failed.
What we did. We built the telemetry pipeline — edge collection, cloud ingestion, and a monitoring layer that turns raw sensor streams into utilization and anomaly dashboards — then worked with the client's engineers to move maintenance from the calendar to the data.
The outcome. Unplanned stoppages dropped measurably in the first year, and the same data foundation now feeds the client's production-planning models.
Technology partner to a development organization
The engagement. For CARPED, a development-sector organization, McRaaN delivered the systems behind their program operations — on time and on budget, over multiple engagements.
In the client's words. “Your team has done an excellent job, and
I congratulate you. You have delivered the functionality we need on time and in budget…
Please pass on my thanks and congratulations to your team of experts.”
